Which I have no doubt other companies will have theirs come out at NAB 2013. If they really want to get ahead they better start ramping up shipping on all models before giving other companies a chance to create their sub 5K raw cameras. I think it'll only look bad for them if people aren't getting the camera they ordered last April until after one year after placing the order. Not to mention the goodies that come with it like Da Vinci Resolve. This is because they were the first ones to release a raw camera for less than $6000. I just noticed there was a post already about this earlier.Īs much as many of us are frustrated at what's happening with the shipping, I'm still hoping that Blackmagic comes out on top by getting all the orders out before NAB. With BMCC's going to 5200$ on ebay right now, it seems the market is craving all this new cine-technology with RAW. No pro res on this particular camera is a lose, in my opinion. An Interchangeable mount, is definitely a win and from what they are rumoring the size "palm in hand" could be a good and bad thing. Id be curious to see if they actually put a S35 sensor in the KineMini without a fan in it, and see low light test compared to BMCC, battery life. Yea the BMCC still has the edge in resolution and price, hopefully getting cameras out this year in full production will be a win, but it looks like other companies are working on getting their own cine-version cameras out at a 5k under price point. At least none that I can find in the spec sheet. This camera won't be shipped internationally for quite some time.Ĭompetition is good, but this particular camera has no ace in the hole. Rumoured to be shipping domestically (China only) in march. Sean mclennan wrote:Standard pkg for the mini S35 is rumoured at $4800.
